  • TacoBell To Launch Futuristic New Drive-Thru Concept

TacoBell To Launch Futuristic New Drive-Thru Concept

Taco Bell revealed its latest drive-thru concept, which features an elevated kitchen and “gravity-defying” food delivery system.

The high-tech takeout spots will use a “proprietary lift system” to pass food from the 3,000 square-foot kitchen to the four drive-thru lanes sitting below, the California-based chain said in a news release.

The fast-food joint will break ground on the first of the new restaurants in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and will open to the public by next summer.

Three of the lanes will be dedicated to those who order ahead on a mobile app, which the company said will enable customers to start binging on bean burritos faster.

Customers will scan digital screens with a QR code on their phone before pulling up to grab their orders in the sleek sci-fi setting.

The goal of the new Taco Bell Defy concept is to get diners-on-the-go back on the road quickly — and without any interpersonal interaction.

Athletics to Play at Minor League Park Before Vegas Residency

The franchise is temporarily relocating to West Sacramento starting in the 2025 season as it prepares for its eventual permanent relocation to Las Vegas.

The Oakland Athletics announced their temporary move to Sutter Health Park in Sacramento for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 Major League Baseball seasons ahead of their official move to Las Vegas.

Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento will host the A’s for the 2025-27 seasons – ahead of the team’s move to Vegas in 2028.

Sutter Health Park has just over 10,000 seats and seating options to increase capacity to 14,000.

The option year for the A’s moving from Oakland to Sacramento gives the team flexibility if its stadium in Las Vegas is not complete.

NEW YORK — Hoops Cabaret in New York City (48 West 33rd Street), featuring dozens of sexy Hoops exotic dancers, and hailed as “the  sexiest sports bar,” will show the highly-anticipated boxing matchup of Terence Crawford against Israil Madrimov on Saturday, August 3.

Terence Crawford moves up to junior middleweight to challenge WBA champion Israil Madrimov. The WBO interim title will also be on the line.

Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs), of Omaha, Nebraska, is a two-division undisputed champion, a feat accomplished by only two other men boxers (Naoya Inoue and Oleksandr Usyk). Crawford is coming off an impressive performance against Errol Spence Jr. in July 2023. In that fight, Crawford dropped Spence three times to eventually score a ninth-round TKO win at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to unify all four major welterweight world titles.

Crawford, 36, is ESPN’s No. 2 ranked pound-for-pound fighter and the top welterweight fighter.

Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs), of Khiva, Uzbekistan, won the title by defeating Magomed Kurbanov by fifth-round TKO back in March, on the Anthony Joshua-Francis Ngannou undercard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Madrimov, 29, is a decorated amateur fighter with almost 100 fights. He turned pro in 2018 and has notable victories over Raphael Igbokwe and Michel Soro.

At Hoops Cabaret, fans can view the exciting bout on the club’s giant Mega-Tron Video Wall and numerous HD TVs and flat screens, giving every seat a clear view of all the action.

Hoops girl Selena said, “It’s going to be a great card of boxing, and the after-party here with so many sexy dancers is going to be off the chain. Come make it rain. Don’t miss it!”

Hoops Cabaret combines the  fun of a sports bar with the excitement of a gentlemen’s club. Sports and beautiful girls, it’s a win, win. And be sure to check out the club’s unique VIP Man Cave.

    Steve Austin Praises Pat McAfee

Steve Austin has given high praise to Pat McAfee, who has wrestled a few matches in WWE in addition to serving as a color commentator.

After working a few matches in NXT, McAfee beat Austin Theory at WrestleMania 38 last year before he lost to Vince McMahon right after it. Austin would come out to make the save where he hit a Stunner to all three stars. McAfee made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 39 for a short match with The Miz.

McAfee is currently away from WWE as Wade Barrett started to fill in for McAfee as a color commentator on WWE SmackDown when the former NFL punter joined College Gameday last year. He recently signed a big money deal with ESPN.

Mets Crush Yankees to Sweep Subway Series

NEW YORK — The ultimate fate of the 2024 Mets isn’t yet clear and won’t be for months. But one thing about their season is definitively settled: The Mets are the reigning kings of New York.

Their 12-3 blowout win Wednesday night capped a Subway Series sweep of the Yankees, adding two victories at Yankee Stadium to the two they scored at Citi Field last month. They still might not be on the same level as their interborough rivals in the standings, but the Mets nonetheless proved this week that their current trajectory is the more promising one.

Francisco Lindor homered twice, Tyrone Taylor went deep, collected three hits and made a sterling play on defense, and the Mets never had to sweat much in closing out their first Subway Series sweep in more than a decade. The club also moved five games above .500 for the first time in 15 months.

The final victory was a complete team effort, including homers from Lindor (twice), Taylor, Pete Alonso and Mark Vientos. The Mets plated a six-pack of runs off reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole for the second time this season, then batted around in the eighth inning to put the game well out of reach.

  • Indiana Pacers Sign Ex-Knick

    Indiana Pacers Sign Ex-Knick

A year after being traded by the Knicks, the forward is re-signing with the Pacers on a four-year, $60 million contract.

The 26-year-old, whom the Knicks took No. 8 overall out of Dayton in the 2020 NBA Draft, made waves with his high-flying dunks during his three years at the Garden, but he was stuck playing limited minutes behind Julius Randle.

Still mostly coming off the bench for the Pacers, he carved out a bigger role with 21 minutes a game and set career highs with 10.3 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, field-goal percentage (57.3) and 3-point percentage (40.3).

He averaged 9.9 points and 3.3 rebounds during the Pacers seven-game second-round win against the Knicks.

For the postseason, which ended with a conference final sweep at the hands of the eventual-champion Celtics, Toppin averaged 10.9 points and 4.4 rebounds a game while shooting 54.1 percent from the field.

  • Joe Burrow Shatters Mark For NFL’s Highest-Paid Player

Joe Burrow Shatters Mark For NFL’s Highest-Paid Player

Joe Burrow has been all the Cincinnati Bengals hoped for when they selected the quarterback No. 1 overall in the 2020 NFL draft.

The Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Joe Burrow have agreed on a new five-year, $275 million deal, which will make him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

Burrow was entering the final guaranteed year of his rookie contract. Many spectated Burrow would be in line for a record-setting deal with the quarterback pay scale having increased from Jalen Hurts‘ then-record-setting extension with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Burrow has met lofty expectations during his first three seasons, leading the Bengals to postseason berths in each of the past two seasons, which included snapping a 15-year playoff drought during the team’s AFC championship season in 2021 and a combined 22-10 record in his past 32 regular-season starts. The former Heisman Trophy winner has thrown for 11,774 yards, 82 touchdowns and 31 interceptions on 1,044 of 1,530 passing attempts during his three-year NFL career, which includes 4,475 yards, 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on 414 of 606 passing in 2022.

  • Ben Rice’s Three-Homer Game Leads Yankees

Ben Rice’s Three-Homer Game Leads Yankees

It was Rice — who debuted just two and a half weeks ago — who opened the scoring with a homer, all but ended the game with another and launched himself into Yankees history with a third.

It was Rice, a 25-year-old who came up through the system without much pedigree as a 12th-rounder from Dartmouth and really without a position, who became the first Yankees rookie ever to blast three home runs in one game.

Proof of his rawness could be found in his circuitous trip through the dugout after his final shot of the afternoon, trying to find the right spot for his first curtain call as teammates jostled him.

By the time Rice’s work was done, the Yankees had pounded the Red Sox, 14-4, in front of 45,504 fans in The Bronx.
