Jets Defense Continues to Spiral in Loss to Saints

New Orleans won its third consecutive game while the Jets lost their third in a row and fourth out of their last five games.

Saints rookie quarterback Tyler Shough carved up the Jets defense finishing 32 for 49 with 308 yards and a touchdown pass.

Sunday marked Chris Harris‘ first game as Jets interim defensive coordinator. Following Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence scoring six touchdowns last week, the Jets defense couldn’t get much worse.

In the second start of his career, Jets QB Brady Cook failed to show much growth from last week’s game. Cook was sacked eight times due to his lack of pocket presence.

The Jets rushing attack struggled to get going. Breece Hall finished with 54 rushing yards on the ground and the Jets averaged just 3.2 yards rushing.

The Jets will play their final game at MetLife Stadium this season next weekend when they host the New England Patriots.

Giants Continue Losing Ways, Fall to Vikings

A Will Reichard 30-yard field goal with 4:15 to play gave Minnesota their winning points. Two penalties on Dexter Lawrence, a defensive holding and a neutral zone infraction, contributed to a 14-play, 57-yard scoring drive. A beautiful toe-dragging 22-yard catch by Justin Jefferson on a third-and-17 was the key play.

The Giants faced fourth-and-3 at their own 47-yard line as they tried to drive for a game-tying or winning score. Jaxson Dart was sacked by Minnesota’s Andrew Van Ginkel, turning the ball over on downs and ending the Giants final chance.

    • Jaxon Dart, 7 of 13, 33 yards, 1 interception, 5 sacks
    • Tyrone Tracy, 16 carries, 71 yards (4.4 yards per carry)
    • Wan’Dale Robinson, 3 catches, 19 yards
    • Brian Burns, 2 sacks
    • Bobby Okereke, 13 tackles

Autographed Michael Jordan Jersey Sells For $540,000

A jersey worn by Michael Jordan during a 1998 game that was later autographed by the Chicago Bulls legend recently sold for $540 million dollars at auction.

The jersey was donned by Jordan in a showdown with the Washington Wizards at United Center on April 7, 1998. Jordan enjoyed one of his patented outstanding performances in the Bulls’ 103-85 victory, scoring 30 points.

The auction of the prized piece of game-worn memorabilia run by Robert Edward Auctions concluded over the weekend. When it was all said and done, a $540,000 bid won the auction.

The game-worn jersey was previously purchased at auction for $10,000 by late Hollywood legend Penny Marshall in 2005.

The increased interest in Jordan memorabilia of late — and the stunning amount of money changing hands — is in large part inspired by the “The Last Dance,” the 10-part ESPN docuseries that chronicled Jordan’s career and his final season with the Bulls that turned into a pop culture phenomenon earlier this year.

  • Pete Alonso Agrees to 5-Year, $155 Million Deal With Orioles

Pete Alonso Agrees to 5-Year, $155 Million Deal With Orioles

The contract comes a year after Alonso, 30, struggled to secure a long-term deal on the free-agent market. With the move, the Orioles finally have their big-name free agent.

Alonso fits in well with the Orioles. Alonso immediately gives the team a middle-of-the-order power bat capable of posting big numbers regardless of the ballpark. That should work out well in Baltimore, where righties have had a tough time hitting home runs since the team altered the wall in left field.

After failing to land the mega-deal he desired last offseason, Alonso signed a two-year, $54 million pact to return to the New York Mets. That deal contained an opt-out  after the first year, allowing Alonso to test the free-agent waters again.

Jaguars Overwhelm Jets in 48-20 Rout

“Very disappointing on a number of levels,” Head Coach Aaron Glenn said of the game.

“When you give up that many points, that’s tough. It doesn’t allow our QB to actually get in the groove. It doesn’t allow our offense to get in the groove. … Our offense didn’t play up to par, either. So, there were issues across the board.”

Giants Remain in Lead for First Overall Draft

In a game that had no meaning in the playoff race but much meaning for the 2026 NFL draft, the Giants did what many of their fans hoped they would do, and lost.

A 29-21 loss to the Commanders dropped the Giants’ record to 2-12 and keeps them in first place for the first overall pick in next year’s draft.

The Commanders, who are also mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, improve to 4-10 on the season.

If the Giants do earn the first overall pick, they’d likely trade down  because the one thing the Giants have going for them is a franchise quarterback in Jaxson Dart. Although Dart wasn’t great today, completing 20 of 36 passes for 246 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, he continues to look like a quarterback the Giants can build around.

Still, Dart needs to stop taking so many big hits. He had to go into the medical tent today, and was briefly replaced by Jameis Winston, after a shot he took late in today’s game. Keeping Dart healthy is the highest priority.

For these two teams, winning is a lower priority. The Commanders won, but it doesn’t much matter.

Miami Dolphins Dominate New York Jets

The Dolphins have improved from 1-6 to 6-7 and are mathematically alive in the AFC playoff hunt.

The Jets played without Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner (traded) and Justin Fields (injury). They also lost quarterback Tyrod Taylor to a groin injury in the first half of this game.

Dolphin Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa improved to 1-7 when the temperature is 46 degrees or colder at kickoff. It was 41 degrees.

The odds of Mike McDaniel returning as Miami head coach in 2026 appear to be improving each week.

The Jets drop to 3-10 on the season. Now the Jets prepare to go on the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars next week.

  • Patriots Roll Over Giants 33-15

    Patriots Roll Over Giants 33-15

The Patriots outgained the Giants 395 to 239, with Drake Maye continuing to make an MVP case. He went 24-of-31 for 282 yards and two touchdowns.

Maye completed passes to eight different receivers, with Hunter Henry catching four for 73. Kyle Williams had a 33-yard touchdown reception, and Kayshon Boutte scored on a 3-yard catch.

The Patriots dominated in all three phases, but three miscues by the Giants special teams allowed New England to run away with it.

In nine possessions, the Giants had four punts and turned it over on downs three times. Jaxson Dart was 17-of-24 for 139 yards and a touchdown. Devin Singletary had 12 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown, and Darius Slayton caught two passes for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Jets Edge Out Falcons On Game-Winning Field Goal

In a game between two struggling teams that was anything but pretty, Folk’s kick was also far from it. But in tough conditions, the 41-year-old got just enough on the football and was mobbed at midfield by his teammates as the Jets fans in a drenched and half-empty MetLife Stadium went wild.

Tyrod Taylor went 19 of 33 for 172 yards and a touchdown pass and also ran for a score in his second start for the benched Justin Fields as the Jets (3-9) snapped a two-game skid. Adonai Mitchell had eight receptions for 102 yards and a TD, and Breece Hall ran for 68 yards and a score.

After the defense held Kirk Cousins and the Falcons to a three-and-out, the Jets got the ball back at their 43 with 35 seconds left. Taylor hit Mitchell on the drive to put Folk in position for his winner.

Cousins went 21 of 33 for 234 yards and a touchdown and Bijan Robinson ran for 142 yards and a score and caught five passes for 51 yards for the Falcons (4-8), who lost for the sixth time in seven games.

  • Lions Rally to Stun Giants

    Lions Rally to Stun Giants

What was set as a double-digit game by the oddsmakers in favor of the Lions turned into a nail-biting, comeback, overtime win for Detroit in front of a relieved crowd. Jahmyr Gibbs raced 69 yards up the middle for a touchdown on the first play of overtime to give the Lions a 34-27 lead.

The Giants had a chance to answer, but Aidan Hutchinson sacked Jameis Winston on fourth down to end the game.

It was not a pretty victory, and for most of the game, New York was sharper than the host Lions, racing out to a 17-7 lead.

The Lions showed more energy and urgency in the second half. Gibbs scorched the Giants defense for 219 rushing yards on just 15 carries, punctuated with the game-winner.

The game featured over 1,000 combined yards of offense: 517 from New York and 494 from Detroit.

The Lions improve to 7-4. The loss drops the Giants to 2-10 and makes New York the first team officially eliminated from the postseason.
