The Los Angeles Rams bounced back from their season-opening flop in Australia to score a stylish 28-6 victory over the New York Giants on Monday.
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford returned to form with 327 passing yards and four touchdowns for Los Angeles as the Giants never recovered after suffering an early injury to signal-caller Jaxson Dart.
The Los Angeles Rams had Davante Adams, Trent McDuffie and Matthew Stafford, who looked like he did during his MVP season. They also had defensive tackle Aaron Donald back for the first time since the 2023 season.
The Rams pounded the New York Giants, though New York hardly had a chance after quarterback Jaxson Dart left the game after one possession due to what is believed to be a sprained MCL.
The night started with Dart suffering that knee injury. Jameis Winston replaced him. Winston completed just 4 of 12 passes in the first half for 58 yards and threw a bad interception to McDuffie in Rams territory, which wasn’t a big surprise given the interception issues he has had through his career.
Cam Skattebo and the rushing attack combined for a paltry 52 yards on the ground. Malik Nabers, hampered by a shoulder injury he sustained at the end of the first quarter, caught only one pass for a single yard.
